$425M Advisor Team Creates RIA, Join Concurrent After Leaving RJF

A team of financial advisors managing more than $425 million in assets has left Raymond James Financial Services to launch as an independent RIA on Concurrent Investment Advisors’ platform.

Jeff Green, CEO and founder of Winstone Wealth Partners, joined Concurrent at the end of July, looking to use the resources and expertise of its bigger partner to pursue inorganic growth for his Houston-based firm, Concurrent said in a news release.

Green, who served in the U.S. Army Airborne Infantry before entering the financial services business, launched his practice in 2008, focusing on organic growth, according to his LinkedIn profile and Concurrent.

Concurrent, a fast-growing multi-custodial, hybrid RIA in Tampa, Fla., said the addition of Winstone increases its total assets under management to more than $23 billion. In addition, the RIA added that partnering with Winstone builds on the momentum it developed over the first half of the year, when it added 25 advisors to its platform and lifted AUM to $21 billion.

“The investments we are making in advisor support and the platform overall continue to stand out to advisors and teams seeking independence,” Joe Mooney, managing director and head of business development at Concurrent, said in a statement.

Green, who spent 18 years at Raymond James, according to BrokerCheck, jumped to Concurrent with partner Lauren Smith and advisors John Grover, Robert Burks and Dylan Daggett.

Partnering with Concurrent will give Winstone the technology and operational support to enhance the planning and investment offerings it can offer its wealthy clients in the Houston area, according to the release.

“With Concurrent, we have the technology, integrated planning tools, and operational efficiency necessary to continue putting our clients first,” Green said in a statement. “From day one, it was evident that Concurrent would empower us to build the independent firm we envision for our team and for the families we serve.”

Concurrent CEO Nate Lenz added, “Our role is to bring capabilities and strategic support to the table that strengthen firms like Winstone, without diminishing what makes them distinct.”

Winstone is the second advisory team managing a significant amount of assets to bolt Raymond James recently to go independent with Concurrent’s help. In July Concurrent said it brought Maryland-based Potomac Financial Group onto its platform after the firm, managing more than $750 million, broke away from the broker-dealer.

Earlier in the year, Concurrent landed an even bigger former Raymond James team when advisors who oversaw $1.2 billion in client assets left the broker-dealer to launch TAVO Wealth with Concurrent.
