As reported in CityWire by Andrew Foerch, Concurrent Investment Advisors has recently expanded our executive team, appointing Bo Ellison as the new Chief Financial Officer. Ellison’s previous role was divisional controller of retirement services at Creative Planning, which he joined in 2022 following its acquisition of Lockton’s $110B 401(k) business.
We also welcomed Joe Mooney as Managing Director of Advisor Engagement and Enterprise Development, Kerry McDermott as Vice President of Program Development, Strategy and Growth, and Matthew Unger as Vice President and Head of Centralized Wealth Advisory Services. These new hires mark a significant bolstering of our leadership team, aimed at enhancing recruitment, growth initiatives, and advisor talent development within the firm.
This strategic strengthening of its leadership team aligns with our transformation from a super-office of supervisory jurisdiction within the Raymond James network to an independent entity providing middle- and back-office services. Since officially becoming a standalone Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in May 2023, we have established custodial relationships with Fidelity and Charles Schwab and collaborated with technology providers like Practifi, Black Diamond, and SmartX. CEO, Nate Lenz, highlighted the initiative as a proactive approach to addressing demographic challenges in the industry and preparing the company for future sustainability. As of our last reporting, Concurrent manages approximately $6.3 billion in assets under management, with $4.7 billion of that managed on a discretionary basis.
