Industry Leader David Patchen Joins Concurrent to Advance Advisor Growth Initiatives

David Patchen will support the firm’s development of highly-customized consultative services.

TAMPA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Concurrent Investment Advisors, LLC (“Concurrent”), a leading multi-custodial, hybrid registered investment adviser (“RIA”), is furthering its commitment to growth and advisor empowerment by bringing on David Patchen as Executive in Residence. Patchen will collaborate with the Concurrent leadership team through mentorship and strategic guidance to enhance the firm’s ability to deliver highly customized solutions to every advisor.

Patchen began his career as a financial advisor at Dean Witter Reynolds before he transitioned into leadership at American Investment Services, an independent broker-dealer. There, he played a key role in driving significant growth as Chief Operating Officer, tripling the firm’s size. He then launched his own independent RIA firm, Jefferson Capital Management, before shifting gears and joining Raymond James in 1998. He spent 27 years at Raymond James in various leadership roles, where he was SVP of PCG Education and Practice Management, led growth initiatives, was a top recruiter, a productivity-driving Divisional Director, and mentored rising industry professionals across the organization.

During his time at Raymond James, Patchen worked closely with several members of the Concurrent leadership team, including recently appointed Managing Director of Practice Synergies and Enterprise Consulting, Liz Lenz. Patchen will draw on nearly four decades of industry experience to collaborate with Liz in building a highly customized consulting program. The initiative will empower advisors to increase team productivity, implement new technology, and elevate their service offering to clients. This effort supports Concurrent’s broader commitment to understanding each partner firm and providing tailored coaching in practice management, team succession planning, and strategic growth.

“Concurrent has built a truly unique platform that elevates how advisors serve their clients and grow their businesses,” said Patchen. “Having worked alongside Liz in successful initiatives in the past, I know firsthand the caliber of her work. I am honored to join the firm in its mission to be the platform advisors choose when seeking independence and entrepreneurial freedom.”

Patchen and Liz will build on their history of collaboration in innovative education and practice management initiatives to seamlessly integrate consultative solutions into the Concurrent platform. Advisors who partner with Concurrent will gain access to an in-depth practice assessment, customized resources, and hands-on coaching from their enterprise consulting team.

“Working with advisors in a consultative manner has always been part of Concurrent’s DNA,” said Liz. “Dave’s long-standing track record of helping organizations and advisory teams elevate their performance, paired with the platform and partnership of Concurrent, is a best-in-class combination for advisors looking to maximize their potential as business owners.”

“At our core is a commitment to advisor centricity—that is identifying and accentuating what drives their business,” said Nate Lenz, CEO of Concurrent. “Dave and Liz will be instrumental in formalizing our mission to be a firm that empowers independent advisors to truly succeed as entrepreneurs.”
